Julia Cheng
AmeriCorps Food Bank Coordinator
Julia, until very recently, lived essentially their entire life in the metro-Detroit area in Michigan. They relocated to Seattle to enjoy the nature and scenery in the Pacific Northwest and work with the Puget Sound Labor Agency Food Bank, as well as pursue a career after graduating from the University of Michigan in 2021. During their time at college, they studied courses that looked at various topics and issues through a sociological lens, thus prompting them to look into a term of service through AmeriCorps in order to develop their knowledge and skills by working and learning in a practical and hands-on work environment.
Julia is excited to work with such a motivated and talented group of people at PSLA Food Bank. They hope to use their time at the food bank to continue to provide exceptional service to clients, as well as help to expand the food bank's capabilities and explore new partnerships and avenues through which to help those who come through PSLA.
